Day 32  Chillicothe, MO to Kirksville, MO    82 miles and 3676 feet of climb

It was hot and humid again today as we rode to Kirksville, Missouri, some 82 miles away. The terrain was hilly, green and beautiful. We rode on quiet country roads with farms and cornfields on either side of us all day long. I'll say it again, Missouri is beautiful.

We were at the final SAG stop, about 26 miles from Kirksville when dark clouds filled the skies, and we heard thunder. My riding partner Mark and I put our wallets and cell phones in plastic bags to protect them from the rain showers that we knew would soon be on the way. We then got back on our bikes and started the last leg of today's ride. The rain came about 1/2 hour later, and although we got wet of course,  it sure did cool things off. The rain stopped eventually, and we rode the last 10 or so miles under dry but overcast skies.

All in all, it was a fantastic day of riding with lots of rolling hills to climb.
Tomorrow we cross the Mississippi River on our way to Quincy, IL.
